We are excited to now be offering Allergy Testing at Witcombe Health for adults and children.

Common Symptoms of Allergies

Allergic reactions can present in a variety of ways. Common symptoms include:

• Wheezing, coughing or shortness of breath
• Itching of the skin or eyes
• Skin rashes or hives
• Watery or irritated eyes
• Sneezing, a blocked nose or a runny nose
• Swelling of the lips, mouth or throat
• Nausea or sickness

If you are experiencing persistent or unexplained symptoms, allergy testing can help identify potential triggers.

Allergy Tests Available

We offer a wide range of allergy tests, including comprehensive panels that assess multiple allergens at once, as well as individual allergen testing.

Comprehensive Allergy Panels

• ALEX² Test – Tests for over 300 allergens including pollen, dust mites, pets, insects, moulds, yeast, foods and latex.
• Rhinitis / Asthma Profile – 13 common allergens linked to respiratory symptoms such as dust mites, pets, pollen, peanut and milk.
• Dermatitis / Eczema Panel – 14 allergens often associated with eczema and skin reactions, including milk, egg, soybean, wheat, dust and pollens.
• Food and Inhalant Panel – Over 40 allergens including trees, grasses, weeds, moulds, dust mites and common foods.

Specific Allergen Panels

• Airborne Allergens – Pollens, grasses, dust mites and other inhaled triggers.
• Food Allergens – Including egg, milk, wheat, sesame, peanut, kiwi and codfish.
• Nuts and Seeds – 14 nuts and seeds including peanut, sesame, pine nut and walnut.
• Children’s Allergy Panel – 13 common allergens affecting children, including pets, foods, dust mites and pollens.
• Shellfish Panel – Crab, shrimp, scallops and squid.
• Fish Panel – Tuna, salmon, cod and mackerel.
• Fish and Shellfish Combined Panel – Salmon, cod, prawn, scallop, squid and tuna.
• Cereal Panel – Barley, wheat, rye and oat.
• Milk and Milk Proteins – Eight different milk proteins including cow, goat, sheep, casein and lactalbumins.
• Gluten Sensitivity Test – Tests for antibodies that may indicate coeliac disease.
• Stone Fruit / Rosaceae Panel – Fruits such as peach, strawberry, cherry, apple and pear.
• Insect Allergy Panel – Including wasp, bee and hornet venom.
• Antibiotic Allergy Panel – Testing for reactions to five commonly used antibiotics.
