General Practitioner - GMC 7164439, MBBS, MRCGP, Postgraduate Diploma Dermatology
Dr Rebecca Gray is an experienced GP with an extended role in dermatology, and an additional interest in women’s health. She studied medicine as a graduate, switching from a successful career as a BBC journalist to pursue a line of work that chimed with her core values of compassion and caring for others. After completing her studies in London, Rebecca moved to the West Country, and has been employed as a doctor in Somerset since 2012.
Dr Gray is passionate about skin, having undertaken additional clinical training in dermatology. She has expertise in managing chronic inflammatory conditions such as eczema, psoriasis or acne, but is also skilled in the assessment of moles/lesions and can offer surgical procedures for removal if appropriate.
Menopause care and gynaecological concerns are also areas of particular interest for Dr Gray. She advocates taking the time to understand symptoms experienced by women at all life-stages, and to consider treatment options that are focused on the promotion of overall wellbeing.
Dr Gray loves the variety and challenge of general practice. Her approach to medical care is based on treating each patient as an individual with their own context and belief system that will influence outcomes. As such, she believes in a bespoke tailor-made approach to the management of symptoms and conditions. This encompasses a less ‘disease-focused’ consultation, with more emphasis put on holistic principles such as nutrition, exercise and sleep to achieve the desired goal of feeling well.
